My host dad receives several Hindi newspapers each week. Because I'm learning how to read Hindi, he gave them to me to practice my reading skills!
Whenever I'm in Varanasi, I always play carrom with my littlest sister Puki. Carrom is a board game. The board is a square with a hole at each corner. You try to flick disks into those holes and steal the other person's disks. Whoever gets all the disks at the end wins! Needless to say, Puki always beats me!
I think I caught a cold in Varanasi. Flu season in India is a little bit different than in the United States. Whereas we tend to get sick in the winter-time, post-rainy season in late summer is the time all the sicknesses spread around here.
