At Siem Reap’s war museum, my friends and I learned about the Cambodian Civil War. Although the war ended in 1975, the impact of the fighting is still felt today. People hurt by landmines (bombs placed under the ground) during the war continue to suffer, and even though the war is over, there are landmines hidden during the war that are still being uncovered, serving as a dangerous reminder of the not-so-distant past.
