Recently, they have hosted a movie night, a kite-making workshop, a soccer tournament, and a science lab. Their building—located next to the colegio where I teach—includes a game room, a library, a community garden, and various event spaces. I often see students hanging out on the patio before and after school.
In Spain, "youth" refers to individuals between 12 and 29, a broader definition than in the United States, where the term usually applies only to minors. Because of this, I've been able to attend some of Arousa MoMoza's events myself. I joined an excursion they organized to a nearby island (Cortegada) and even placed second in their board game tournament while playing Catan. Youth in Vilagarcía also receive discounts at select stores and restaurants when they present their carné xove (youth card). Although it feels odd for a working adult to use the card, I appreciate the savings!
