One of my favorite aspects of London so far is the fact that shopping markets are a staple of the culture. Having plans to visit one spot could lead you down a road that has several other stores, and so on and so forth. Such an occurence happened to me at Brighton today. The North Laine is a neighborhood full of independent restaurants, small businesses and outdoor stalls. While perusing through the streets, I came across Kenny's Rock and Soul Cafe. Decorated with countless music memorabilia from posters to picture frames and more, the restaurant had one of the most distinct identities I have ever encountered.
Personally, my favorite part of traveling is seeing where I end up beyond whatever itinerary I put together. I am always a fan of wandering, which is inevitably how I end up finding a lot of unique spots. Going to Brighton resulted in me buying a second-hand digital camera, which is something I have been wanting for a while and I know will enhance my future travels.
I also confirmed plans with a friend studying in Bristol this semester. The University of Bristol is about two and a half hours away from London, and my friend decided to visit London for their birthday weekend. We are going to see a show at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre!
