I host an English Club thrice weekly and had a lot of fun playing Bingo with the kids last week to practice numbers!
I've always been an avid reader, and the Peace Corps means I have plenty of reading time. I read/listened to the audiobooks of 103 books last year. I have a Kindle, which makes reading easy and accessible here, even though I don't have access to a physical library with English books. This week I finished The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green, and I’m making my way through Babel by R.F. Kuang—both are excellent!
I have access to a beautiful gym here where I get most of my physical activity. I also go on walks in the campo (which means village or neighborhood) most Sundays, and have a small park near my home with basketball and Ecuavolley games. Ecuavolley is extremely popular here and is a 3-versus-3 variant of volleyball, played with a smaller, harder ball with a higher net on a smaller court.
Carnaval is a major holiday in Latin America, and especially in my province of Bolívar, so preparations have begun in my office, and it's looking to be a festive upcoming few weeks.
