Most of the days this week were a mix of sunny and cloudy. It is warming up again after a couple of weeks, where we were in the 50s and 60s. Houses in Monterrey get really cold in the winter because they are made of cinderblock. This keeps them cool during the long, hot summers, but it is not good for when it gets cold. So far, I am glad it has gotten a little warmer!
I do not see too many exotic animals while in the city, but there are a lot of cute pets for Kenai (my dog) to bark at.
One of the coolest things about Monterrey is the mix of urban and green spaces. At one of the parks I went to this week, there was a super futuristic set of buildings that had a mountain as a background. This mix of city and nature serves as a reminder that while humans might make enormous and beautiful things, we can never compete with mother nature!
