Welcome Aboard to My Journey Abroad!

Although Japanese language experience was not required to apply for this exchange program, I am very glad that I put in the work to learn Japanese because it made life so much easier once I arrived in Japan. In major international cities like Tokyo, road signs are in both Japanese and English, but the staff and average Japanese citizen doesn't speak much English. I am not fluent in Japanese, but sometimes I was forced to use Japanese in order to get help. I am thankful that the Japanese people were so patient with me.  My life in Japan was a humbling experience but also a great learning experience, since it was one hundred percent out of my comfort zone!

I hope you will enjoy listening to my adventures and find my stories insightful during our time together this spring. I look forward to our time together!
