I did not see many animals since I lived in Shinjuku city, but I definitely heard them. I often heard the crow caws, Kamchatka leaf warbler and Japanese accentor songbird chirps, as well as the cicadas shrills during hot days. When I traveled to Kamakura (about one and a half hours from Tokyo by train), I saw koi fish at ponds in Hasedera Temple and I filmed small Coquina clams burrowing into the sand along the beach shoreline.
While going to file paperwork for my "Japan residence card" at the Shinjuku City Office, I was able to watch a street artist spray painting a mural. I also saw the statue of Godzilla's head on the top of Toho Cinema building. Godzilla's eyes occasionally light up, and the monster emits smoke from its mouth, while roaring sounds are played on speakers attached to street lamps near the shops below.
