Most places here are able and willing to cook any Albanian dish you like. Just chat with the waiter and they will bring something that matches your tastes and cravings at that moment.
Every week, I usually buy my groceries from local street-side markets to stock up on fresh produce. Items here are often fresher and locally grown. It is also much cheaper to buy from these local markets than from supermarkets. All the dishes in Albania are shaped by their local environment! Cities near the Mediterranean Sea eat so much seafood, while cities further away, like Korçë, rely on corn because it is a crop that stores easily and is reliable in the winter months. Also, Albanians tend to only eat food when they are in season. Although you can find a lot of produce like strawberries year round, many people don't eat them unless they are in season because that is when they are sourced locally. Albania's climate is subtropical, featuring hot summers, mild winters and long growing seasons, which are ideal conditions for agriculture. Because of that climate, Albania can grow most fruits and vegetables on their own, making the country largely self-sufficient when it comes to produce.
