In Puducherry the weather was much hotter than what I'm used to back in Bengaluru. It got to just about 90 degrees Fahrenheit during the middle of the day. The nights and mornings are cooler. Most of my activities were scheduled in a way that worked around the weather. Walking under the sun in the heat is never any fun. The cloudy days were more inviting.
On a typical day I see a whole lot of stray dogs and cows. This has been true of every town and city I've seen in India so far. We were especially lucky when we arrived at our homestay. We had a small squad of puppies under our staircase. We were careful not to interfere too much so that we wouldn't scare the mother away. I'm really sad to say that on the beach we encountered a dead jellyfish off-shore and a dead dog floating in the ocean. The pollution in India can be pretty bad. Our group's spirit was hurt by this tragic sight.
