A Taste of New York in Bristol

It had the right level of sweetness that made walking up the hill on College Green to Queens Road feel worthwhile.

How is the food prepared?:

According to Little Bagel Co., every bagel is "hand rolled, 18-hour fermented, malt boiled, and freshly baked every day." The eggs in the B.E.C. are done over easy, and the bacon is cooked to a slight crisp. I requested a splash of ketchup on my B.E.C., and it was cut into two halves once fully ready. The everything Ccookie was baked freshly overnight and combined several nuts (i.e. walnut, chocolate chip, peanut etc.) into a jumbo, crunchy cookie.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

According to the founders, "Little Bagel Co. was started in July 2022 with the intention of bringing New York bagel culture to Bristol." While the menu has traditional bagel options, it also contains fun variations that highlight the cross cultural exchange between two continents. For example, one bagel option is the kimcheesy, which combines kimchi and melted cheddar. There is a vegan version of this bagel as well. Another option is the Elvis, which features peanut butter and sliced bananas on a bagel of your choice. Little Bagel Co. has a 4.7 out of 5 star rating on Google, with the queue often being outside the door. Customers frequently share that it’s the best bagel shop they’ve visited on this side of the Atlantic.
