An eighth grader in Jodhpur, India

We have a garden on the side of the house and the garage where we park our cars in front of our house. All of our floors are made of white marble and so is the staircase, which we use to go to the upper floor. 

What chores do you have at home?:

I do not have any chores at home.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My father, his brother and my grandfather work together. They own a business that makes paper products that are exported. 

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

My school starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. 

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

The school bus picks me up at 6:50 a.m. and drops me home after school in the afternoon. I cannot go to school by myself because my school is too far from my home and I'm too young to drive myself to school.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

On school days I eat the lunch that is served in school. My favorite food is a McDonald's veggie burger, which unfortunately is not served at school. I also like soft serve cones in chocolate or vanilla flavors. In school we have to eat in the dining hall. We are not allowed to eat our lunch anywhere else on campus.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

In school we speak English. When we greet elders we say namaste (नमस्ते). When I meet my friends, I say "Hi" in English.
