I urge you to consider volunteer programs like the Peace Corps or study abroad experiences to expand your understanding of what it means to be a human in this world.
In your own community, I recommend trying a restaurant with cuisine from a different country, read books translated from foreign languages and befriend the foreign exchange students in your school.
You'll never know what you'll learn, who needs your help or what little part of your own personality and potential may become unlocked, until you try something new.
If you are planning to go to college, schools have a program called Peace Corps Prep for students to do volunteer programs similar to the Peace Corps, while studying and earning a degree. I encourage you to explore this opportunity and other like it!
