When you’re surrounded by new languages, new food, new music and new ways of seeing the world, you start seeing yourself differently, too. Every city I visited, every culture I learned from and every experience I had made me want to explore even more. And, honestly, I hope one day you get to feel this too. It’s so worth it, and it really does change you forever. And if traveling sounds impossible right now, remember this: there are programs and scholarships, like the Gilman Scholarship that helped me, that make things that seem unreachable possible. Maybe one day it’ll help one of you, too.
