Football Fever

This past Sunday, I went to my very first German football game ever! I had so much fun, dare I say even more fun than I've ever had at any other sports game!

Mainz's home stadium is called the Opel Arena and it is only a 15 minute walk from where I live!
Mainz's team colors are red and white
The 11 players for each team come out onto the field!
It was a very tight match and no one scored for the entire first half of the game
The Dortmund fans were loud and proud even though they were like an island of yellow in a sea of red
Some of the Mainz fans were waving flags around and everyone in the stands was chanting and singing, too!
Every true football fan brings a team scarf to a game because you get to wave it in the air when your team scores!
