What about surrounded by oceans? The environment around you doesn't just make the views around you different, but the way transforms the way you live as well. If you grew up near the ocean, can you imagine the different natural disasters that are more likely to occur? Can you think of any potential natural disasters near the mountains as well? What about your access to different foods if you lived near an ocean?
Understanding how your environment can shape your life is very important. In this field note, I will talk about how unique the South African environment is and how people can overcome some of the short-comings they have because of the environment.
The environment of South Africa is very unique in that it has so many different types of landscapes and natural features in such a small piece of land. While South Africa is only a little bigger than three times the size of Texas, they have everything from deserts to lush mountains. They even have a lot of beaches because the entire southern part of South Africa runs along the Indian ocean.
