I chose to interview the volunteer coordinator here at Up Close Bolivia. Mino is 32 years old and has spent most of his professional career working with nonprofit organizations. Being the same age, Mino and I became fast friends and have since formed a wonderful professional and personal relationship.
Milton Hugo Gomez, but I go by Mino.
I live in Los Almandro, which is a neighborhood of Zona Sur, located in the south of La Paz. My house is not too big, but it is two stories. Currently, I am only living with my mom, cat and dog. This means I have plenty of room to myself, which I enjoy.
I have a medium-sized family for someone from Bolivia. My mom and dad are separated, and I am living with my mom. My father lives close by, and I am able to see him often. My grandparents used to live with me, but they have passed away, and now it is just me and my mother living in our house. I have a sister who married a foreigner, and now she lives in England. I don’t get to see her much, but I know she is living a happy life. I have a few aunts and cousins living all over Bolivia. Unfortunately, it is difficult for me to travel to other parts of Bolivia, so I don’t get to see some of my extended family often.
