Hi students! As we reach the end of our virtual exchange, I have been thinking a great deal about how meaningful this experience has been. Sharing my journey in Mexico City throughout these past weeks and months has been one of the most rewarding parts of my time abroad. Even though we were not together in the same classroom or even the same country, I felt connected to you through your curiosity, your questions, and your excitement to learn about my time in Mexico and my cultural background. It made every entry feel more meaningful, because I was not only writing about my experiences, I was sharing them with young learners who were discovering the world alongside me.
When I first arrived in Mexico City, I was amazed by how lively and colorful everyday life was. I wanted to bring that same feeling to you each week, whether I was talking about fútbol traditions, foods, celebrations, transportation or conversations with people I met here. As I wrote, I imagined what details you would find interesting or what moments might inspire you to learn more about the world beyond your own community. In many ways, that made my journey feel richer, because I was not traveling alone. You were traveling with me.
