Rachel's Journey to Rwanda

Current Location

Rwanda

Rwanda is full of new experiences, busy classrooms, and weddings. I teach English with local teachers and love being with my community. I've learned to see the world in new ways and try new things!

Logbooks

Sometimes my weeks look different, but overall, my days mostly stay the same. I go to school, shop at local markets, and spend time with friends. I've created a nice routine that keeps me busy!

Journals

After two years in Rwanda, I’m getting ready to leave for grad school! I'll miss the daily routines, classroom memories and relationships that made it feel like home.

Field Notes

In Rwanda, there’s a tradition called "gusaba" where the groom’s family visits the bride’s family with gifts to show respect and ask for her hand in marriage.

Albums

Here's a quick look at a normal day! I taught classes in the morning, stopped by the shops, and ended the video with a short house tour.
