History Hunting in Venice

This is me in front of the famous Rialto Bridge which bridges two islands together to create Venice. Not only can you see a beautiful view of Venice from the top, but the bridge itself has little shops built on top of it.
This venetian couple stood in front of the opera house dressed in the traditional french inspired carnival costumes.
Like New Orleans Mardi Gras, the Venice Carnival is best known for its fried dough. These pastries are stuffed with chantilly cream and fried apples, then rolled in sugar.
In theme with my research, we visited the most famous venetian bookshop which has shelves made of gondolas and is situated right on the canal.
San Michele, an island that Napoleon converted to a royal cemetery, is visible from the edge of Venice.
This was me drinking espresso on our balcony. I am currently reading about the history of papyrus and the how the international book trade began with Ptolemic Egypt and the Library of Alexandria.
The famous gondolas in the canals!
This is the famous San Marks Palazzo which is now a museum. We were lucky enough to do a venetian mask making workshop in the prison underneath the palace.
