Interview with a Czech Student

Introduction:

I am here today with Honza. Honza is the Czech name for "John" in English. Honza is 13 years old. He will be answering the following questions about his life.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

"For breakfast, I usually eat something like a banana or bread and eggs. For lunch, I go to the school canteen (which is our version of cafeteria). They usually serve some kind of meat and rice. Sometimes, they have a soup of the day. I eat dinner with my family. Both of my parents cook and they make different things. My mom loves to make pasta from scratch (homemade)."

What is your house like?:

"I live in an apartment with my parents and my older sister. We live 15 minutes (walking distance) away from school. I like my apartment. I have my own room."

What chores do you have at home?:

I clean the dishes with my sister after meals. My parents cook the food, so we clean it up. I also make my bed every morning or else my Mom gets mad... I don't do much else around the house yet.

What jobs do your parents have?:

"My mom works at the local pharmacy and my dad fixes peoples air conditioners and heaters. Both of them work every day, and my dad works on the weekends, as well. We enjoy having dinner together at night when I am back from school and they have returned from work."
