Another big difference that I've noticed is that the French seem to value the arts a lot more than they do in America. I've already been to four art exhibits. I've been to Musee d'Orsay, le Centre Pompidou (which is the National Museum for Modern Art), Fondation Louis Vuitton and an artist colony called 59 Rivoli. The artist colony has been my favorite art destination so far. It's a large building in the center of Paris that provides a work and exhibition space for around 30 up-and-coming artists. On any given day, the museums are super crowded, and people love to look at local art!
Tomorrow will be my first day of classes and I can't wait to meet more of the students that I will be studying with over the next few months. I'll hopefully be able to make some new friends and learn about how French school is different from my school in America.
