Currently, I am living in a town called Oviedo in the Asturias province in Northern Spain. I am teaching in two small towns just outside of Oviedo: Moreda and Cabañaquinta. At both schools, I am teaching secondary school students, (ages of 11 and 20). This is an entirely different age group than I am used to, and I have been mistaken for a student multiple times, but I am really enjoying learning from these kids and teaching them about English and the United States as a whole!
Besides working in schools, I'm planning on organizing a bilingual book club for interested students at both schools. We will be reading books and short stories from both the United States and Spain. I hope that this will help me get to know the students better and that it will help both me and the students understand each other's cultures better.
I can't wait to share the successes and failures that I am experiencing in the classroom and all the amazing things I have already experienced here in just the first few weeks. I'm so excited to meet you!
