Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

The furthest was an hour by bus to go hike a mountain. Public transportation is very efficient and convenient. You can get anywhere in the city.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I took a 6-hour train to get across the country to visit Busan, Korea's port city. If you wanted to, you could even get across the whole country in 2 hours. There's a train called the KTX which is Korea's high-speed train. If you ride that train, it will only take you around 2 hours to travel from the top of the country to the bottom. It would be nice if America had trains that fast.

How did I get around this week?:

I usually get around by bus, subway and walking. Since I live in the city, I walk a lot because everything is within walking distance. If it's not, you take the bus and subway. Usually, after you get off the bus or subway, you'll only have to walk 5 - 10 minutes to your destination.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

Bukhansan Mountain! It's the tallest mountain in Seoul. It's also a national park. It's a nice place to go if you want to get away from the city. It was so quiet on this mountain. You couldn't hear any of the sounds of the city, like the honking horns, traffic on the roads, construction and sirens.
