The Vibrant City of Seoul

Imagine going to school for 8 hours and then instead of going home or going to your after school activites, you go to a different school for 3 - 4 hours to study more. You're not done studying for the day. When you come home, you still have your homework from school and your after-school academies that you have to do. Kids are expected to study hard, get into prestigious universities, and secure top-tier jobs. This competitive mindset carries over into their professional lives. As a result, constant comparison and high expectations are the norm.

How have people been adapting to this environment?:

For years, people have been struggling to cope in this environment. People would tell you "Dont cry, just work." That's all you could do, is just work. You had to survive. However, recently there has been a growing pushback against this grueling culture. Younger generations are demanding a better work to life balance. The government has introduced policies like the 52-hour work week, and some companies have introduced flexible arrangements like the four-day work week. These changes show that there is a slow but growing shift towards a more balanced work environment.
