Then, “PET” bottles (specific types of plastic bottles, like drinks) are separated from other plastics, and the labels and caps are taken off. You also have to sort glass by color, and batteries, aluminum (washed), tins (washed, no labels), textiles, and electronics (with the batteries taken out) all go in different bins. Cardboard is sorted out and has to be bundled up and tied with twine. I can’t think of many other daily processes involving quite so many steps! Can you?
