Horses: They are really big, I am 5ft, 10 inches and I only come to the shoulder of the average horse. Their heads and necks are also quite large, and surprisingly flexible. One thing a lot of people don't know about horses is that their lips and tongues are extremely flexible. I have seen horses undo knots of rope and pick things up with only their lips.
Spiders: The thing that stands out about spiders in Taiwan is how big they are. Even the smallest fill up the palm of my hand. The biggest spiders I have seen here are easily bigger than my hand.
Horses: I got super excited when I saw them, because I enjoy riding them and interacting with them. It can still be scary, though, when I get up right next to them. They are so much bigger than me.
Spiders: Most people are afraid of spiders, but I am not. I really like having spiders around because they eat a lot of insects that I hate. Yet, when I get close to spiders, I get nervous because they are so big here. Some are poisonous. I was trying to sweep one out of my classroom with a broom during class, and man, did that thing take off! Everyone was jumping on their stools because it was big and fast! I was super nervous, too, because I didn't want it coming near me.
Horses: They live in many environments, and are both domestic and wild. The horses that I met live in a barn at my host family's farm in the mountains.
Spiders: Wherever they can spin a web and eat lots of insects. I have found them at school and in the forest.
