The weather was mostly cloudy this week, with scattered rain showers days. Winter is the rainy season in Galicia, where most days are cloudy, rainy and windy. I live in A Coruna, a city on the Northwest coast of Galicia. The city has the beach on one side and a port on another, which creates a lot of wind. Most people walk around with rain jackets or umbrellas during the winter because you can never be sure when it will start to rain. Typically it only rains for around an hour, and sometimes it can be sunny for most of the day before a stray cloud unleashes a lot of rain.
I saw a lot of birds this week. We have plenty of pigeons and magpies that hang out around my school and the nearby cafes, waiting for someone to drop some crumbs. There are also seagulls near my apartment, because it is only two blocks away from the beach.
On one of the sunny days this week, I took a walk by the rocks on the beach and saw many different sea creatures living there. I saw snails, mussels and barnacles all clinging to the rocks.
