I stayed in A Coruna all week. I caught a cold so I was resting.
I've been to the major cities in Galicia (Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, Lugo, and Ourense), along with Madrid three times and Sevilla. I hope to see more of Spain and Europe in the coming months.
I take the bus to and from school every day. My ride is short, only about 15-20 minutes. Everywhere else I went I walked. I walked to the grocery store, to the soccer match and to the beach.
The most interesting place I visited this week was the Tower of Hercules, a first century Roman lighthouse built on the shore of A Coruna. Legend says that Hercules slayed a giant at the site of the tower, then buried his head under the lighthouse to make sure he couldn't come back to life.
The lighthouse served as an important guide for ships sailing in the region. The lighthouse in the port at A Coruna is the oldest operational lighthouse in the world.
