The weather has been rainier than usual this week. Typically, January is part of the dry season. However, this week it has rained almost every day, which is more typical of the rainy season. Luckily, the rain always comes around the same time each day, so I try to do all my outdoor activities in the morning before it rains.
Dogs are the most common animals I see. My town has some street dogs, as well as dogs that are kept as pets. I also saw a couple of cats, though they are more likely to be pets and stick close to home. Many houses also have chickens. One of my neighbors has one that likes to wake everyone in the neighborhood up! I have also seen a wide variety of birds, especially when I am spending time in nature. This week, I saw a group of small colibríes (hummingbirds), which I haven’t seen before!
