The Tíos Are Being Placed by the Chimney with Care...

Why does the community have this tradition?:

El Tío is a very old custom, and people say that the oak log represents nature throughout the winter months. El Tío becomes alive through the singing and the hits by the children and gives presents at the end of winter. It's also really fun for the children and festive for the entire family!

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

Yes, El Tío is connected to the environment! It is an oak wood log, although people often paint fun faces onto the log and put hats on it. Isn't that silly?
