Now there are two major international airports and a third is under construction. This makes travel easy for anyone staying in or looking to visit Berlin, and it's good for trade and the economy.

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:

One challenge for the people living in Germany is the dark winters. Studies have shown that approximately one out of every 25 people in Germany feel excessively sad during the winter, a condition sometimes known as seasonal affective disorder, which is also known by the acrynom SAD. There are only eight to nine hours of daylight during the coldest months, as opposed to the nine or 10 hours of sunlight in New York City. How have people been adapting to this environment?:

To combat the seasonal darkness, Germans have embraced Gemütlichkeit, which means coziness and warmth. By celebrating Christmas and engaging in holiday cheer, Germans turn the winter months into the most wonderful time of the year.
