Hello!!

My name is Zahyyeh (pronounced Za-he-ya) Abu-Rubieh, and I am originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts, which is a city right outside of Boston. I grew up in a Middle Eastern family so we had plenty of different traditions and customs that made my upbringing very interesting. My parents immigrated to the United States in the late 1980s (which feels like a very long time ago!) and I was born a little while later in 1999. My parents came to the United States in hopes of giving me and my siblings more opportunities than they had when they were young. Having spent the past 30 years in America, my parents love the traditions and foods, here, and it has been amazing to see their ongoing adjustment to the different cultures and customs that make up the USA. My entire family is also obsessed with the New England Patriots and Tom Brady, so it was really hard for us to see him switch to a different football team. We also love basketball, so if there are any Celtics or Patriots fans among you, I can talk nonstop about my love for the teams!

A really exciting part of my life is that my family owns and operates a small diner in the city of Cambridge, and I have worked there ever since I was a kid. Being able to cook breakfast foods like pancakes, French toast, omelets, and eggs has always been second nature to me.
