Speaking with you all has also helped me see my school and community through new eyes, such as being reminded of how different it is from my high school in the U.S. I’m ready to take on my last eight months with this new perspective, and for that, I thank you!
I am living here as a Peace Corps volunteer. I first heard about the Peace Corps when I was a bit younger than all of you, and I soon decided that it was a program that I wanted to pursue. Peace Corps is an agency of the U.S. government, and it places Americans in towns around the world to help with community needs. My service has been an amazing way to expand my horizons, and I encourage you all to look into Peace Corps!
Even if Peace Corps doesn’t make sense for you, I hope you remain interested in the world and explore it. There are many ways to see the world, such as through study abroad, working overseas or traveling. Exploring is beneficial for so many reasons: you push yourself and learn what you’re capable of, you connect with people across cultural boundaries and more! I hope that you all stay curious about the world and that you maybe even practice your Spanish along the way!
¡Gracias, y adiós! Thank you, and goodbye!
