Throughout high school, the spiritual aspect of seeking out new music continued to grow for me, as did the importance of going to see live music. In fact, going to small music festivals on weekends and during school breaks became a huge part of my life. And at just 18 years old, nearly 11 years ago now, I met Josh at one of these festivals.
Along with our love for eachother and our growth as individuals and partners, our taste in and appreciate for music has continued to grow and evolve over the years. The playlist that follows chronicles some of this evolution, but it focuses more specifically on my own journey—beginning as a seven-year-old girl, idolizing Sporty Spice and captivated by my shiny new CD player, on through those awkward and at times heart-breaking “formative years,” up until high school and the day I met the love of my life, onward still to university and my time spent abroad, and finally, to the whole person that I am today. I hope that you will enjoy it, and most of all, that some of the songs will resonate for you as much as they have for me.
