The weather is usually very bright and sunny here in Santa Barbara, but this week has been unusually cloudy and rainy. All the rain has been met with a warm welcome since California has been in a drought for over ten years.
What animals did you see this week? Since I live in a bustling city, I only see small animals such as squirrels, skunks, rabbits, and birds (especially in the birdhouse in my backyard!)
This week, I noticed that one of the larger trees in my neighborhood finally started turning red and orange. In this area, the trees do not usually change color at all, so this unique sight is a beautiful surprise in the middle of winter.
On one of the sunnier days, I took a stroll through the rose garden of the Santa Barbara mission. They have 1500 varieties of roses-- in every color you can imagine.
