Traveler Bio

Hi Everyone! My name is Aish Balaji, and I grew up in Frankfort, Kentucky. Fun Fact: Frankfort is the capital of Kentucky! Kentucky is known to have the best horses in the world, and we have a famous horse race called the Derby that happens every year about an hour from my town in the biggest city of Kentucky called Louisville. Actually, there is a horse farm right behind my backyard! I moved away from the rolling hills and nature to the hustle and bustle of a major city in college. I attended the University of Pennsylvania, a school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where I studied psychology, the study of the human brain and behavior. Getting a degree in psychology led me to continue doing research after graduation, which is what I am doing now. I applied for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and received a Fulbright grant to conduct social psychology research on primates. I work in a primate sanctuary with lemurs, a type of monkey! I am currently living in Germany and am so excited because this is the first time I living in another country outside the United States. I hope you enjoy coming on this journey with me, and I look forward to meeting you all soon!
