Lumela! Hello! My name is Alexandra, but here in Lesotho they call me by my Sesotho name, Tseli! I am 22 years old and grew up all over the United States, but mostly in Colorado. I love everything outside--running, hiking, skiing, climbing mountains, and going on adventures. When I'm not outside, I like to paint, play guitar, listen to music, and spend time with my friends. I have always loved road trips, too, and have now been to almost every state in the United States!
For college, I went to the University of Colorado in Boulder and just loved it! I got to study communications, sports media, and leadership studies. College was really fun, and afterwards I wanted another adventure, so I applied to be a Peace Corps Volunteer and was placed in Lesotho. Lesotho is an incredibly beautiful country in the mountains of southern Africa--can you find it on a map? That's where I am now!
In Lesotho, I am an elementary school teacher at the school in my village. I mainly teach English and some math, but also get to do projects like starting a soccer club and painting murals at my school. Lesotho is a small country and very different from the U.S. I live in a rural village in a rondavel (a circular hut) with no electricity or running water. I get to have so many new experiences and adventures in this country and I can not wait to share them with you!
