France is famous for its delicious food, bread and pastries! Cuisine is an important part of French culture and tradition. Some foods are found all over the country, or even around the world, while others are only found in certain regions of France.
For most French people, going to the bakery is a very important part of life. Many people stop by a bakery every morning to pick up fresh bread and pastries. Bread is so important here that France has a law saying that every village must have at least one bakery selling fresh bread! However, French people don't just eat bread and pastries! I'll be sharing some photos of lots of different delicious things I've eaten here and telling you a little bit about each of them!
My favorite French treat is a croissant. The word croissant means "crescent", like the shape of the moon! Do you think croissants look like the moon?
I also love a good baguette! Baguettes are long, thin white bread loaves, and they go perfectly with cheese or as a sandwich.
One of my favorite French meals is a quiche. A quiche is a flaky pie crust filled with savory egg custard, cheese, and any other fillings you like! My favorite is a 'quiche aux legumes', which means 'quiche with vegetables'.
My other favorite French meal is crêpes!
