Chamois feed on vegetation in the mountains. They have special hooves that allow them to climb rocks and grip on ice. They also have adapted strong legs which allow them to jump and climb with great power.
Chamois can be harmed by over-hunting and disease. As temperatures rise globally, chamois also have migrated to lower-altitude forests. The increasing chamois population at lower altitudes puts stress on these forest ecosystems, which are already stressed by droughts.
