South American Sea Lions!

Introduction:

There are a lot of sea lions off of the coast of Valparaíso, Chile. We call the ones that we find in Chile "South American sea lions" because they are native to South America.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

A South American sea lion is big and medium-brown colored, and it likes to float along the ocean's coast. These sea lions have two flippers on the sides of their bodies and two on the tail ends of the bodies!

How did I feel when I saw it?:

When I saw all of the sea lions, I was really excited because there were so many of them all together. I thought it was quite amazing that they all stayed together floating in the ocean. I also felt suprised because some of them were really big!

Where does it live?:

South American sea lions live off of the coast of several South American countries, including Peru, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.

How does it use its environment to survive?:

Since Valparaíso is a port city, there are a lot of fishermen that go fishing in the morning. The sea lions wait along the shoreline where the fishermen return in the afternoon after they have gone fishing, hoping that the fishermen will feed them scraps.
