Hiya everyone!
My name is Allie and I am from Colorado! I love reading, my three-legged cat Orion, and going swing-dancing with my friends. I go to the University of Denver and am a double major in Public Policy and English Education with minors in Philosophy and Leadership.
If you want to get to know me, there is one fun fact you need to memorize; I LOVE to read! It is one of my favorite activities and one of my current favorite books is Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune. Reading is one of the main reasons I decided to study abroad (but let’s be honest, Pokemon and anime made the decision a lot easier).
Reading has been my passion and a source of connection my entire life, as it allows me to become curious about the world around me. Books help me see what other cultures, foods, and societies are like around the world, and they are a wonderful way to begin the journey of cross-cultural connection!
One of the reasons I chose Japan was my limited real-life experience with the culture and literature, so I figured what better way than to immerse myself in all aspects of the culture! I want to meet other people, try some new foods, and explore somewhere I’ve never been before. It might be scary and different, but in my opinion that is the best way to learn and grow!
