Hello! My name is Alyssa Washington and I am from Gaffney, South Carolina. I study mass communication and Spanish at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I am 21 years old and a senior in college. I chose mass communication because I love writng and I want to make a difference with my written words. I chose to add a Spanish major because I love Spanish culture--the language, the music, and especially the food!
I planned to study abroad in Spain during the Fall 2020 semester, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn't go. Now, I will be taking online courses at two different universities in Spain: Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville and Universidad Nebrija in Madrid. My study abroad journey is non-traditional, but that is what makes the experience more fun and challenging to complete. I can't wait to share my stories and experiences with y'all!
