I went to the beach for a day trip this weekend, and there I saw a stingray, a hermit crab, a jellyfish and sand dollars.
At my school there are two huge trees right by the field. Towards the end of practice on Thursday, a flock of green parrots danced between both trees. About 30 parrots flew around above us, chittering to each other. It was getting close to sunset, and the golden light hit the green wings of the parrots so beautifully. We all just stood there in awe. It was so cool.
At the beach this weekend, I got stung by a jellyfish! I was walking back to shore and saw a gray blob out of the corner of my eye. Before I could move away, I felt the tentacles wrap around my legs and sting the back of my right leg and both sides of my left leg. It's not scary or super painful when you get stung, but it feels really itchy. I ran some cold water over my legs and took an Advil for the inflammation. Within 45 minutes I was back swimming in the sea. No one else got stung that day, and I was glad everyone else was safe. My friends shared that when the weather starts to get cooler, the jellyfish might float closer to shore.
