Traveler Bio

Hi! My name is Annabella Li. I am 19 years old and grew up in Redmond, Washington, in the USA. I have many things I like to do, but my favorite hobbies are reading, playing the piano, and painting. There are many forests and mountains in Washington state, so I also enjoy outdoor activities with my family and friends.

I went to college not far from home at the University of Washington in Seattle, where I studied a mix of chemical engineering and biochemistry. My research during my undergraduate years mainly focused on engineering proteins for medical applications. I wanted to continue my work while also experiencing a different culture after graduating, so I applied for a U.S. Fulbright Research Grant last year. Luckily, I received this grant, and I am currently living and conducting research in Munich, a city in the southern part of Germany. Apart from the science, I am also having fun exploring the area, learning German, and trying the local cuisine. I am quite excited to listen to music from some of the world-renowned symphonies and orchestras in Germany, too. Thanks for reading about me, and I am looking forward to learning more about you all in the upcoming school year!
