This week I traveled 46 miles out of Madrid to visit Toledo.
My trip to Toledo has been the first place I have visited while in Madrid.
This week, I got around by walking and by using the bus and the metro (subway) system to get to school.
The most interesting place I visited this week was Toledo. Toledo is a gorgeous historical city in Spain. It is known for the diversity it holds as the wall surrounding it was designed by medieval Arab, Jewish and Christian influences. Also, in Toledo, there is a gorgeous cathedral (a type of church) called The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary, which was built in 1277! It was also the home of Mannerist painter El Greco. The famous literary figure, Don Quixote de la Mancha visited Toledo on his trip around Spain!
During this past week, I have planned my trips to Barcelona, Spain, and Paris, France. I will be visiting Barcelona from October 10th to the 14th and Paris from October 18th to the 20th. I'm so excited about these trips and can't wait to share them with you all.
