Arrivederci means “until we see each other again,” and it's a great way to express how I feel about our farewell. Sharing pieces of my journey in Italy has been a fun way for me to reflect and grow, and it has even helped me feel less homesick at times! I’ve missed my home in Oklahoma, my cat, my partner and different random things…I’ve been really craving Skittles lately! Even though some moments have been stressful, like when I lost my passport in Istanbul (don’t worry, I found it!), I have loved my time in Italy.
I’m here through the Fulbright program, which gives recent college graduates and current researchers the chance to explore new environments and learn about different cultures. Some of the other Fulbrighters are ETAs like I am: English Teaching Assistants living in small towns in southern Italy. Others are doing research on a wide range of topics, from black holes to classical music!
