Welcome, my name is Audrey! I am 24 years old and I grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. From there, I attended West Virginia University to study agroecology, or sustainable agriculture.
While in college, I traveled to India to learn Hindi, a north Indian language, and study agriculture in a context outside of the U.S. Now I am back as a researcher studying soil pollution. I live in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, a city known for its colorful printed clothing and textiles. However, the chemicals from dying and processing sometimes end up in local streams as pollutants. I am exploring how the pollutants can travel from streams, to agricultural soils, and eventually end up in the local food supply.
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my neighbors, traveling, hiking and drinking mango smoothies! I hope you are excited to follow along with me! Chaliye! (Chah-li-yay: Hindi for 'Let's go'!)
