Time to Say Goodbye

Even if it’s only for a few weeks during the summer or winter break, I really believe any amount of time learning about another culture that shares this planet with us will enrich your life and make you a better, more informed global citizen. I know the thought of studying abroad and more specifically, how you will pay for it all, can be really intimidating. It held me back for a long time. But I eventually found a way and now I’m here in South Korea, fulfilling a dream I’ve had since I was your age. Although I’m a little older than most of the other students here, I’m having just as much fun! If you really want to study abroad, don’t worry about doing it on someone else’s timeline. Everyone comes from different places in life and some people take longer than others to do something. Just keep looking for opportunities and scholarships that can help. There are plenty out there that want to help you, especially if you’re studying a language.

Good luck with the rest of your school year everyone! Hwaiting! ("Fighting" -- it’s like saying "Good luck!" or "You can do it!"). Thank you all for letting me share my story with you! Annyeongi gaseyo! ("Goodbye," or literally "go in peace").
