That being said, it seems like outside of occasional instances and political clashes, there is mostly love and respect between tribes and cultures. In fact, in modern times, Malawi has not experienced large-scale tribal conflicts, much less ones that escalate into violence. Malawians hold tight to identity as “the Warm Heart of Africa” and as such focus on being a harmonious and peaceful people. They are a very hard people not to love!
I hope learning more about these vibrant traditions and dynamic subcultures help you to see that there is so much more to Malawi then just the poverty stricken label it always seems to receive. The people of Malawi truly are blessed in so many ways.
